When you say the name Jimmy Buffett, people automatically think of shorts and margaritas by the beach. He has been around for a long time and perhaps the most famous of his songs, Margaritaville, is still played in bars everywhere. He also has some restaurants by the same name. He says his music is a combination of pop, folk, country, and tropical themes in his lyrics. It is said this is what gives him his own unique sound. He recently teamed up with Alan Jackson to record “It’s 5 O’Clock Somewhere.” This was well received by all of those who work the nine to five shifts. He has also teamed up with the governor of Florida, Bob Graham, to create the “Save A Manatee” program. He also helped to found “Singing for Change.” This charitable program was to help with environmental issues as well as children and family issues. On New Year’s Eve, he performed in St. Bart’s Baz Bar and played nine songs for the crowd to celebrate. He also performed at the Summerset Winery, with many people in straw hats and skirts and flowered shirts and they all helped raise a ruckus. This was a casual event that also included dinner.
