A contest was held to re-write a verse from the song “Margaritaville” and the above is the winner, written by Jack Honey from Salem, Oregon.
Paris fashion week taken over by Parrotheads

Jimmy Buffett played two shows in Paris over the weekend drawing crowds dressed like above. Yes, the city of lights and the fashion capital of the world was bedecked in grass skirts, tye-dye t-shirts, coconut bras, flip-flops and enough beachwear to make any self-respecting Parisian down their wine and order a margarita. Buffetts set included covers of Grateful Dead and Bob Dylan songs along with his classics of course. Read the overview here.

Jimmy Buffett should be President. Look we all know the world is going to end in 2012 so wouldnt you prefer to go out with a maragrita in one hand and a Landshark beer in the other?
If Jimmy Buffett were President the world would turn into one big island party. Ok, maybe President was a long shot. But if he opened up his own commune on an island somehwere I would drop my life and go there. Goodbye job, goodbye responsibility, hello hawaiian shirt and flip-flops. Even if the commune was cut off from the world, I would still go because Jimmy Buffet owns everything one would need to survive on an island or even post-apocalypse. His companies include his own brand of Margaritaville tequila, his own brand of Landshark beer, even his own brand of Margaritaville food! I wouldnt have to worry about shoes as 1. I’m on an island and 2. Jimmy Buffett owns Margaritaville: Soles of the Tropics. He would keep me entertained with his coconut television and Margaritaville radio show and, of course, a concert every night. And I’m sure he could whip up a pretty mean cheeseburger…plus with his own Maragrtiaville Cargo line and Margaritaville Frozen Concoction blenders, I could send my friends and family souveneirs from the island I will be staying on, which is by the way called Maragaritville Island. Oh yes. Margaritaville Island.
