The Lenox Group Inc is working on selling off their assets to KPS Capital Partners. So what? Lenox Group made some interesting products before they went bankrupt. One of these was a parrot that sings the Jimmy Buffett song “Cheeseburgers in Paradise”. According to the singer, the group hasn’t kept up with copyright laws in terms of this song. They used the song without asking him or paying royalties, they said. Last year, they came to a decision that the birds would not sing his song anymore, and the already-manufactured ones would be destroyed or given to Buffett at the time. Now, in the bankruptcy proceedings and the sale information, we don’t see any information about the final fate of the parrots. Please note: these aren’t real parrots, but rather plastic birds.
