Jimmy Buffet was announced as the 7th richest rock star of 2006 by the Rolling stone magazine. His gross earning for the year 2006 was $56 million that came from his annual musical tour, chain of restaurants, stores and other ventures like Satellite Radio. Buffet is earning a good amount as royalty for the records released by his recording company Mailboat Records. Buffet has collectively named his business ventures as Margaritaville Holdings and the headquarters is presently located at Palm Beach, Florida. Margaretville cafes and stores is a chain of restaurants opened by Jimmy in 1987. Now, the chain has 16 branches and three more branches are coming up within next year.
Another restaurant chain co- owned by Buffet is Cheeseburger in Paradise. The first one was opened in Indianapolis in 2002 and now the chain of restaurants has sprung up in about 40 locations across 18 states in the United States. Another business of Jimmy Buffett is the internet radio station called Radio Margaritaville which started its service in 1999 and is also broadcast as a satellite radio channel on the Sirius network on channel 31. Margaritaville Casino Resort is the latest business venture of Jimmy Buffett that has commenced its work last year and will be ready by the spring of 2010.

Money raised from the event is intended to benefit Liz Neuf, a St. John’s missionary working in Papua New Guinea.

Summerset Winery is calling all Parrot Heads for the return of Jimmy’s Buffet. The event will be from 6:30 to 11 p.m. Jan. 19. You need only to put on a flowered shirt and straw hat and head to the winery for a casual event. Jimmy Buffet’s latest album titled Live in Anguilla was released in November 2007 and was recorded at reggae singer beach bar. The album includes two discs, the first one with 14 tracks, and the other one – 16 tracks. Live in Anguilla also includes a 82-minute DVD of concert footage (18 tracks). Live in Anguilla includes such singles as Waiting in Vain by Bob Marley, When Salome Plays the Drum, Grapefruit-Juicy Fruit, Carnival World, Distantly in Love and many more.

Buffett filed a lawsuit against UnderOneHut.com in the US District Court for the Southern District of Texas last November. His attorneys were seeking to prevent UnderOneHut.com from selling Buffett merchandise claiming that they had not granted permission for such sales. This case made worldwide headlines appearing in over two hundred media sources. Ultimately, it was settled out of court. Last month, Jimmy filed suit against Six Flags claiming that the company had infringed on his trademark by calling its kids club the Carrothead Club, claiming the name was taken from the term “Parrotheads,” which is typically associated with Buffett’s fans.
