Bubba is playing four dates in June with two dates at the Comcast Center outside Boston, outside of Detroit at the DTE Energy Music Theatre, and in East Troy, WI at Alpine Valley Music Theatre. Jimmy will take a well deserved break from touring in July before playing shows in New Jersey, New York, Illinois, and Pennsylvania in August. The head Parrothead will continue touring into October concluding with a big ole show at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, NV. A psyched-up crowd of 17,000 men, women, and children showed up to see Jimmy Buffett & his Coral Reefer Band in Houston, TX last night. Jimmy and his band of veteran Coral Reefers brought out a few surprises at the Woodlands Pavilion on Thursday night including renditions of “Elvis Presley Blues”, “Tampico Trauma”, and a batch of new songs. Jimmy commented on the amount of young people who attended the show by thanking his fans for sharing his music with their children. After four decades of playing shows in Houston, Buffett has grown fond of a certain Mexican restaurant. At one point in Thursday’s he shouted, “Thou shall not eat 18 tacos at Ninfa’s!” This Saturday, Jimmy will travel to Frisco, Texas right outside Dallas to play soccer stadium Pizza Hut Park before taking a short break from touring. Bubba will pick up where he left off on June 17 at the Comcast Center in Mansfield, MA.

Jimmy Buffett performs for the 25th time at Indianapolis

The “Year of Still Here” concert tour of Jimmy Buffett at Indianapolis last Tuesday night was one of the most significant performances of this current 2008 tour as it marks the 25th appearance of the veteran singer and songwriter in Indianapolis. The show was a memorable one for the Parrotheads as well as the other people who had gathered in large numbers to listen to Jimmy Buffett. Buffett performed hit songs like “Volcano”, “Cheeseburger in Paradise”, “Come Monday”, “It’s Five O Clock somewhere” and “Brown Eyed Girl” in front of the capacity crowd of over 24,000 at the Verizon Wireless Center. There are a few tickets still up for grabs for the Jimmy Buffet’s show in certain locations.

Buffett’s June tour leg ends in Philadelphia

Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reef Band ended their June summer trek of the “Year of Still Here” concert tour with a performance at the Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia last Saturday. The rain gods did push the schedule a little bit, but as soon as Jimmy Buffett started to perform the audience and the Parrotheads were in jubilant mood and started swaying to the veteran’s tunes. This is the first time Buffett and his Coral Reefer Band are performing at the Phillies after a gap of two years. Tracks like “Miss You So Badly”, “Why Don’t We Get Drunk”, “Glory Days” and “Trying to Reason with Hurricane Season” were all well appreciated by the mass gathering at the concert venue. Tickets to some of the concert venues of Jimmy’s summer tour are still on sale.

Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reef band landed for the first time in two years at the DTE Energy Music Center in Clarkston and the Michigan fans were thrilled to have their star idol perform in front of them last Tuesday night.  The highlight of the entire gala evening was when Greg Taylor joined with the band to exhibit his music skills on solo songs like “The City” and the inevitable “A Pirate Looks at Forty”. Jimmy Buffett was at his usual self all through the night and this veteran singer and songwriter will enthrall audiences in any part of the woods with his sublime onstage presence. All the people who bought tickets for the concert got their value for every penny they spent.

The second leg of renowned singer and songwriter Jimmy Buffett’s “Year of Still Here” summer tour kicked off at the Lakewood Amphitheater in Atlanta last Thursday night and the Parrotheads who were there witnessed one of the most memorable shows from this all time great entertainer. Buffett enthralled his fans with songs like “Volcano”, “The City” “Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes” and “Making Music for Money” and his commanding vocal control is sure to drive his fans to purchase tickets for his future concerts as well. Jimmy Buffett has performed in Atlanta after a gap of two years and has performed here first after taking a month long break.

Jimmy is still young to retire

The veteran musician Jimmy Buffet dismissed the rumors about his retirement in an interview by saying that he thinks he is too young to retire now. He said that there is no plan for him to retire in the near future as he relishes each and every moment he spends in the music industry. At present, he is busy with his “Year of Still Here Tour”. Jimmy added that he is also working on new songs and is giving guest performance in Little Feat’s new album. His concert tickets are selling like hot cakes, at this ripe age of 61. By the look of things, Jimmy Buffett is going to rule the music charts for many years to come.

Buffett creates rock waves at Charlotte show

The “Year of Still Here” tour by Jimmy Buffett and his Coral Reef Band made its fourth stop at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Charlotte, Northern California and the ParrotHeads were over the moon when they heard their star performer utter “Hello Carolina, We’re still here”. This is the first time that Jimmy Buffett is performing here after a gap of two years and Jimmy performed “Trying to Reason with Hurricane Season” for the first time in his four shows so far.

 

It was a thrilling night for his fans as he performed “Fins” and “Rainy Day Woman “, a Bob Dylan classic. The biggest surprise of the whole concert night was when Jimmy came up with “God’s Own Drunk” which he last performed in October. Parrotheads were pretty much excited when they heard their idol sing this rare song and the response that he got for the song was really out of the world.

Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reef band will kick start their 2008 Year of Still Here tour tonight in Woodlands, Texas. The wait for the tour season is finally over as the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion has the pleasure of hosting the first concert of Jimmy Buffet’s tour season. The tickets for this concert tonight is already sold out and the Parrotheads will be in large numbers to cheer their favorite singer and business tycoon, who even at the old age is determined to perform live for his fans and supporters.

The show is also going to be carried live on Jimmy Buffet owned Radio Margaritaville on the web and fans can listen to the live performance by logging on to www.radiomargaritaville.com. The show will also come live on the Sirius satellite radio network on channel 31 which is also owned by the big man himself. The show will go live on air at 8 pm central time.
